Saudi Resorts is a curated editorial guide to Saudi Arabia's finest hotels and resorts, published by Palidano LLC. This page summarises how the app handles your information.

No tracking across websites

The guide does not track your activity across other websites. Exploring, search, the map and hotel pages work without an account; favorites, a hotel’s PDF, sharing and the publications require it. Personal data is collected only if you create the account described below or write through the contact form.

What is stored locally

The browser keeps on this device: the hotel catalog, so the guide also works offline; preferences (language, filters, recent searches, favorites); an action waiting for sign-in, for at most 30 minutes; the service worker cache with pages and photos; with an account, the Firebase sign-in data in IndexedDB. None of this leaves the device except as described on this page. Settings → Clear browsing data removes filters, recent searches and the photos kept while browsing; language, favorites, downloads and the account stay.

Your account

If you create an account on the Account page, the following are stored: your email address, your name if the sign-in method provides it (Google does), your sign-in method (Apple, Google or email and password), the favorites you save, and your email preference. They are stored with Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) on behalf of Palidano LLC and are used only to sign you in and keep your favorites in sync across your devices, the service you ask for by creating the account. Your name and email address are also kept on this device to show who is signed in, and are removed when you sign out or delete the account; the last sign-in method used stays on this device, to put its button first, until you delete the account.

Emails

News emails are sent only if you answer yes on the Account page and your address is verified. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from the Account page. Each choice is recorded with its date, the version of the wording you saw and the language, as proof of consent; with consent withdrawn the current record no longer holds your address.

Transfer outside the EU

Account data is stored with Google Firebase, a service of Google LLC, which may process it in the United States.

How long data is kept

Account data is kept as long as the account exists. Deleting the account erases it, as described below.

Deleting the account

Account → Delete account erases the account, the favorites saved online and your current email preference. In the consent register, deletion removes your email address; the user identifier, the dates, the wording versions and the languages remain only as proof that consent was given and when it ended, as the GDPR requires (Art. 7(1)). The favorites saved in the account are removed from this device too, including those added here and already synced; only those never synced stay, until you clear them from Settings.

Where data and photos come from

Hotel data, photos and publications are loaded from appsr.travelacademy.club, a server run for Palidano LLC. Magazine covers and issues come from resorts.it, the Resorts Magazine site. Like any website, these servers receive the IP address and the browser details with each request.

Anonymous usage statistics

To improve the guide, Saudi Resorts measures anonymous usage with PostHog, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt) for Palidano LLC. It records events such as hotels opened, links followed to a hotel website or directions, searches that find nothing (the search text, shortened), language changes, and errors. It does not record your name, email or location, and the IP address is not stored. On the web no cookies are used and nothing is stored on your device; only if you switch statistics off is that choice remembered. Data is kept for up to 12 months. You can switch this off in Settings → Anonymous usage statistics.

Map tiles

The maps use OpenStreetMap data. The small map on each hotel page loads its tiles from the OpenStreetMap servers as soon as the page opens; the full map loads them from OpenFreeMap when the map view opens. In both cases the browser contacts those servers directly. The OpenStreetMap usage policy is available at openstreetmap.org/copyright.

Editorial content

Hotel descriptions, scores, and curation reflect the editorial opinion of the staff of Resorts Magazine. They are not advertisements and the listed hotels do not pay for inclusion.

Data controller

The data controller is Palidano LLC, 16192 Coastal Hwy, Lewes, DE 19958-3608, USA. It can be reached through the contact form.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing and to receive it in a portable format, by writing through the contact form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work.

Contact form

Messages sent with the contact form (name, email, subject and text) go to the site operator’s panel and are used only to reply.
