The Chedi Hegra is the only hotel located within Hegra, Saudi Arabia's first UNESCO World Heritage Site. The archaeological landscape is known for its Nabataean rock-cut tombs, while the wider AlUla area also includes Maraya, the mirrored venue used for concerts and events. Sandstone formations and desert vegetation shape the setting of the property. The property has 35 rooms, suites and villas, with selected categories offering private pools, terraces or balconies. Accommodation includes contemporary technology, leather furnishings, well-appointed bathrooms and outdoor fire pits. Automated lighting and curtains are also provided. The hotel has six food and beverage venues. Prima Classe, located in the restored railway station, takes inspiration from destinations once connected by historic rail journeys, including Paris, Venice, Cairo and Tangier. Al Mahatta serves pastries, desserts, coffee and mocktails, while Al Majlis is intended for private dining and small celebrations. Nasim, still under development at the time of our visit, is planned as a Levantine restaurant with open views of Hegra. The Saudi Coffee House serves Khawlani coffee, recognised by UNESCO as part of the Kingdom's intangible cultural heritage. The 35 accommodations occupy restored historic buildings overlooking a wildlife reserve inhabited by indigenous birds and desert animals. The property offers an unusual opportunity to stay within Hegra and explore its archaeological and natural landscape outside the busiest visiting hours.
